In 2019, the Grand Canyon was designated as an International Dark Sky Park by the International Dark-Sky Association, making it a great place to view the night sky.
The North Rim makes a great day trip from St. George, with tourist facilities open from May 15th through October 15th. Make the drive yourself, or try a guided tour from St. George. Southern Utah Scenic Tours is out of St. George and offers great options for guided day trips for up to 10 people. The Grand Canyon Skywalk is another fun place to visit. The Skywalk is a 10 ft wide horseshoe-shaped glass bridge that extends 70 feet out into the canyon. Once on the bridge, you can look down 4,000 feet to the canyon floor.
